OUR DIRECTOR
Alyse Keyser is the founder and director of East Pointe Dance, LLC. For as long as Ms. Keyser can remember, she has envisioned herself directing a dance school where children and adults could form a love of the art with proper dance education just as she did at a young age. When a fantastic opportunity presented itself to her to open a school for dancers, Alyse was able to make her dream become a reality.
Ms. Keyser trained at American Ballet Theatre, Steps on Broadway, the Joffrey Ballet School, the Alvin Ailey School of Dance, and Civic Dance Center. She has been awarded many dance scholarships from prestigious programs. She is an ABT© Certified Teacher, who has successfully completed the ABT©® Teacher Training Intensive in Pre-
Ms. Keyser received her Bachelor of Arts degree from SUNY Purchase in psychology. When Ms. Keyser was not busy teaching, and attending classes, she performed all over Westchester County and NYC as a freelance ballet dancer.
In 2010, Ms. Keyser graduated summa cum laude from New York University/American Ballet Theater with a Master of Arts degree in Dance Education with a concentration in Ballet Pedagogy. While at NYU and ABT she had the opportunity to teach and assist dance classes, and choreograph at the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School at ABT, all while continuing to perform.
Ms. Keyser has taught classes across the country including Broadway Dance Center in New York City. While she was in college, Alyse taught at NewDance for 8 years as a ballet instructor, company director, and ballet director. She has trained many dancers who have gone on to minor in dance in college, accepted into renowned dance intensive programs, and some have joined regional dance companies or choreographed for pre-
