Malak Lunsford
Originally from New York City, Malak Lunsford has been dancing since he was 9 years old. After receiving a standing ovation during his first solo performance in his 6th grade talent show in middle school and became captain/choreographer for his high school dance team during his sophomore year as well as a lead choreographer for his local “Live Love and dance” studio. After graduating high school, he discovered a passion for dance that tells an emotional yet intriguing and vigorous story. Malak has been studying and teaching urban choreography for quite some time now and has been making a name for himself as a theatrical and urban dancer. Over the years he has participated in many performances, competitions, and workshops, giving way to his title as a competitive dancer and guest artist. As a guest performer, he has performed for, and with, events such as Three-Time winner at The World Famous Apollo Theater, Delaware’s Teen Idol, Black Broadway stars at Carnegie Hall, the Harlem Globetrotters Halftime show, choreographer for MTV’s “Party Animals”, and a finalist on NY’s got Talent.
Believing that the diversity of artists and styles challenges his versatility and originality, Malak’s attentiveness, passion, technique and gracefulness for dancing have led him to many achievements such as working with international artist Lorenzo Jovanotti. Consequently, Malak’s creative and theatrical performances have moved crowds of all ages. Malak is now looking to pursue his dance career internationally and hopes to one day create an all around art school that supports the youth in their craft. His dream is to “motivate positivity through dance” and inspire people all over to be and do whatever it is that brings them happiness.
